How are orders submitted?

  • Orders may be placed using a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card on this website or by calling (800) 542-1673.

  • Official purchase orders may be faxed to 800-442-9509; emailed to orders@hawthorne-ed.com; or mailed to the address below.

What are the shipping/handling fees?

  • Shipping is 15% on all orders up to $100.00 to a single United States or APO/FPO address.

  • Shipping is free on all orders over $100.00 to a single United States or APO/FPO address. Orders over $100.00 with multi-address drop shipments will be charged 10% shipping/handling.

  • Packages returned due to incorrect address, business closed, or other circumstances beyond the control of Hawthorne will be charged 15% to reship the order.

  • Shipping charges for international destinations and U.S. territories can be calculated on Hawthorne’s website. All international customers are responsible for applicable customs fees and taxes. Allow up to three weeks for delivery.

  • FedEx Standard Overnight and FedEx 2 Day shipping options are available.

  • Orders will normally ship the next business day.

 

How do sales tax exempt orders get submitted?

  • Hawthorne is required to collect sales tax from California, Georgia, Missouri, and Utah customers. If the order is tax exempt, Hawthorne must have on file a tax exemption document to process the order tax free. A copy of the tax exemption document can be emailed to info@hawthorne-ed.com, faxed to 800-442-9509, or mailed via USPS.  The registered account will be coded to allow the order to be processed tax free.  A confirmation email will be sent to the email address on file for the registered customer when the account has been updated. 

 

How long until an order is delivered?

  • Due to high shipping volumes taxing logistics networks, you may experience delivery delays.  At this time, we cannot guarantee time in transit.

  • Orders are normally shipped the next business day.  View the U.S. map of FedEx transit times HERE.

  • International customers should allow 7-10 business days for delivery.

 

How does an order get returned/exchanged?

  • You may return any product you are not completely satisfied with to Hawthorne Educational Services, Inc., within 30 days of receipt. Prior authorization must be obtained from the Customer Service Department for all returns. The return must be accompanied by a packing slip and be in unmarked, unused, and salable condition to receive a refund or credit. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

  • A 10% restocking fee will be charged.

  • Opened packages of forms cannot be returned.

  • Software that has been opened cannot be returned.

  • Quick Scores that have been downloaded are non-refundable.

  • All bookstore/reseller orders will be processed on a non-returnable basis. Bookstores/resellers must prepay all orders.

How do I get a complimentary desk copy?

University faculty can receive one complimentary copy of a Hawthorne publication by placing a single prepaid order for a minimum of 10 books. Once the order has been placed, provide the invoice number to receive the complimentary desk copy.
